As a woman, I have no fatherland, the whole world is my fatherland

“Rule over the world and all the beasts that roam it” was the order created by man in the name of a single God, thus separating him from the primal female body, Mother Earth, “Pacha Mama”, the original mother, and subsequently from all mothers and the mystery of life.

A patriarchal impulse made a universe that can be quantified, measured, known, controlled and dominated, in particular, everything that does not belong to the model of the father, chosen by that single God. Everything that is “different”: first women, then Indians, blacks and many more came to embody those beasts that roam the earth, objects to be dominated and controlled.

Reason, measure and calculation were imposed on the mystery of life, and everything was divided up in order to be understood and possessed. Human beings and the Earth were divided, and countries were made with border and symbols. Assets were established with monetary values.

We lost the earth, and in return were given an identity card and passport. We lost the fruit of the earth and received merchandise in exchange; we lost space and were issued a travel permit; we lost free movement, which was replaced by migration laws and consulates with the power to decide who entered their country and who was undesirable.

We lost the earth, to wander it as patriots. The fatherland is the land of the father. Therefore,

AS A WOMAN, I HAVE NO FATHERLAND, THE WHOLE WORLD IS MY LAND, MY MOTHERLAND.
