Unweaved
Marianela de la Hoz uses irony and black humor to transmit on an emotionally charged scene dark human experiences that may seem at times perverse, being theatrical, elegant and sometimes even disdainful. De la Hoz's small-scale narrations are beautifully painted with a meticulous technique, like a jewel, attracting the viewer, allowing him or her to come into intimate contact with the psyche and human weaknesses.
His paintings are also autobiographical, he uses Surrealism and White Violence as a means to exorcise personal demons.
In the series Unweaved, the artist reflects on women in past and contemporary history, real and mythological, who have been forgotten, defamed or misunderstood. She paints them from a different point of view, weaving her story again.
