Florilegia
Mayra Citlalli Rojo Gómez's work allows us to see and ask ourselves about plants. Why archive their stories? Because they are memories of the earth. They bring signs of more than 30 thousand years capable of germinating and coming back to life. There are plant fossils, the traces of individuals that have been preserved in the stones: visible footprints that, like skin, are the earth we inhabit. We are reversible beings. The first information on the use of plants was gathered from women's experience and sense of care. Huge recipe books saved their memories. In the houses, women identified, recorded and stored medicinal plants, plants for seasoning, for fuel, for animal feed, for veterinary use or for handicraft use.
